Dr. Sandy Newmark, MDDr. Sandy Newmark, MD, a leading integrative pediatrician with 23 years of experience, Dr. Newmark’s passion is working together with parents to treat children with ADHD, autism, and other chronic medical and developmental problems, using the principles of Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Newmark is the founder of the Center for Pediatric Integrative Medicine, the author of ADHD without Drugs: A Guide to the Natural Care of Children with ADHD, and a frequently published author and lecturer on the topics of integrative medicine, autism, and ADHD.

After 13 years of practicing general pediatrics, Dr. Newmark began a 2 year Fellowship in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Under the auspices of Dr. Weil’s full time, two-year residential fellowship program, Dr. Newmark embraced the Integrative approach to health care and added an expansive array of effective treatment tools to his pediatric medical kit. In 2001, Dr. Newmark became the first graduate of Dr. Weil’s prestigious program to practice general pediatrics. Since that time he has continued on the faculty and has been an active contributor to the CenterÕs pediatric training.

After graduation he founded the Center for Pediatric Integrative medicine, a consulting practice for children with a wide range of medical conditions. During that time his focus shifted more and more toward the treatment of autism and ADHD, as increasing numbers of families came to him seeking a more natural and more effective approach to these challenging concerns.

Wanting to extend these results to more families than he could see personally, Dr. Newmark authored his first book,

Dr. Newmark is the founder of the Center for Pediatric Integrative Medicine, the author of ADHD without Drugs: A Guide to the Natural Care of Children with ADHD. In it, he shares his successful treatment strategies in plain language that parents can understand easily and implement immediately. He also dispels the myths and misinformation surrounding ADHD, as he explains the latest research concerning what ADHD actually is, what causes it, and how it can be treated. For those children who do need conventional medical treatment, he presents a research-based evaluation of the benefits and risks of the most common ADHD medications.

In March of 2011, Dr. Newmark became the head of the Pediatric Integrative Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. This has given him the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students, doctors in training, and other health professionals while continuing his clinical work.

Married for 37 years to psychologist Linda Newmark, he and his wife had years of real-life experience parenting a son who was intensely challenging, as well as a daughter with special needs.
